Glastonbury Tor is situated in Glastonbury, Somerset, and is 518 ft high.
The building is at the top is St Michael’s Tower.
The word ‘tor’ being of Celtic origin simply meaning ‘rock outcropping’ or ‘hill’.

Myths have it that the tor is home to Gwyn ap Nudd, King of the fairies. Other myths say that it is a faeries’ glass hill, land of the dead, a magic mountain, an Arthurian hill fort, a magnetic power-point and lots more.
