Of Heaven & Hearts

OF HEAVEN
& HEARTS

My heart beats the melody
my ears hear the words
my eyes see the vision
of a beautiful girl

Tell me my lovely
show me you care
hold me my lovely
close as you dare

May we be together
as long as you choose
I’ll be your lover
never to loose

I married you for love
for we’ve both been wed
Oh! My beautiful woman
here beside me in bed

Now it’s forty years on
and forty years gone
and the ache in my heart
still lingers on

Our children now grown
and out on their own
with families all young and alive

Their mother lies still
in a grave on a hill
and a rose from my hand
on her marker does land

As the tears from my eyes
reflect the clouds in the sky
and fade away in the breeze
I turn to the trees and sky

My tears haven’t gone
for my love lingers on
I remember my dear
when you were near

On that day in our bed
when we kissed and we said
I love you forever and more
each to the one they adore

I remember then that I said
as I kissed your sweet head
I love you as never before
the lady the one I adore.

I Love you evermore
