I am taking a six month break from classes and workshops to concentrate on painting just for myself.
This is a painting I just had to do. It is based on a faded print that my mum has had for over forty years. The original artist was a great Victorian artist called Benjamin Williams Leader and the original title was ‘February Fill Dyke’.
I have made a few changes and added a bit of colour but have concentrated mainly on getting the tones right to bring the painting ‘back to life’.
It is a 30″ × 22″ watercolour on Saunders Waterford 140lb NOT paper using W & N artists paints.
