Artist's Description

I took this shot from the Wau Wauka/ Cape Howe Dune Field in Croajingolong National Park, Victoria, Australia. This certainly wasn’t a shot I was looking for it just appeared on the way back to my tent after a lengthy photography session. Seeing it was one thing taking it was another. At 600mm of zoom the tiniest movement fundamentally alters the composition, to get this shot I must have moved my tripod half a dozen times and then fine tuned it to the point of frustration with my crappy tripod but eventually everything was where I wanted it for what I think is an original perspective of this iconic lighthouse. A temporary light was built on Gabo Island in 1853 with the current structure being errected in 1862. Accomodation is available at the Lighthouse keepers cottages.

For more pictures of this area check out my Croajingolong gallery.

$30 a month of photography related profits go to the Wilderness Society
