Beautiful People

Hi all,

Today while teaching (I teach drums for a living) this kid comes in for his first lesson. As we chat I find out his from central America which is reasonably rare in Melbourne and that he was adopted by an Australian couple who then adopted another three kids from the same area. I thought that’s nice your folks must be really good people. Later on while chating with my boss I find out this kid was literally found as a baby abandoned by the side of the road. This normal, polite, nice kid by all rights should probably be dead or at best living in poverty with few prospects. Instead he’s in an expensive private school, getting expensive drum lessons living a great, happy and loving life.

With all the bad news in the world this simple encounter with a fellow traveler through life has really lifted my spirits and restored a bit of faith in the goodness our species is capable of.

Have a great day

Trav
