Moraine Lake, Alberta, Canada. 3-image HDR from one RAW file.
If you ever travel through the Canadian Rockies and want to stop at Lake Louise, do NOT miss the chance to drive a little further (11 km) to visit Moraine Lake as well. Apparently best seen before 11 a.m. or after 5 p.m., it’s a breathtaking sight. This photo was taken just before 9 p.m., and as the sun hits the sides of those mountain peaks, it’s a magical spot. I understand that if you go further into the lake, you can see 10 different peaks; though we were already very late with two little kids in tow who needed to get to bed, so we were just able to go to the edge of the lake. But even that was so spectacular… beautiful, majestic and magical!
