The Crown

My crown is but perpetual fear
Stood naked for its taking,
If captive be its damned thief
Then mercy be my waking.

Instill a doubt from peer to peer
And bless them with the means,
Publish their woes and through such doubt
Digress the skeptic’s dreams.

Provide them not with remedy;
Their souls need not to nourish,
For as dulls copper rusts away,
The golden few will flourish.

Teach right from wrong and friend from foe
And force them in this junction,
For malcontents will not combine;
They know not how to function.

So fear of all, but not of me,
For I am here to guide you.
And take from all, but not from me,
For I know where to find you.
