My husband was a devoted fisherman. Starting in early summer he went fishing just about every evening until late into the night. Most of the time it was just him and the cat.
I love Thoreau ’s words, “Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.” This was so true for my husband.
I made this for Eddie. It is a small drawer that I painted and distressed. I added some blue and green paper in some places. I then looked around the house and garage to find the lures, shells, coral, rope, and sinkers. I also cut a small piece of wood and painted it to look like a nautical flag. He loved this, except when he went to look for a certain lure I borrowed.
I then photographed it and edited it in PS CS5
Before he died Eddie fished right off our beach, and caught striped bass and bluefish which we threw on the grill for dinner.
