Artist's Description

I get really sick to my stomach, literally with the way Australian culture has been becoming increasingly militaristic, nationalistic, bigoted and ignorant since the dawn of the “Howard era”. It permeates media, politics and the general cultural psyche.

If the developed countries put even a tenth the effort into helping people in other countries that they put into subverting and militarily dominating them, we wouldn’t have a terrorism problem.

Pig-ignorant dickheads roaming around with instruments of death, sticking them in innocent peoples faces are not heroes. Those who go unarmed into war-zones to help the victims of warmongers are.

FYI:
1. The psychological tests used to select inndividuals for the oft vaunted pinnacle of the Australian military, the SAS, select for psychopathic traits. I.e the more psychopathic you are the more likely you are to be chosen. And people wonder why the SAS are being accused of killing innocent people in Afghanistan?!

2. For those who haven’t followed things too closely or who are too young to be aware of the fact, the US and Britain nurtured, trained and armed the Taliban when the USSR was in control in Afghanistan. Afghanistan was a secular country back then where women weren’t in constant danger of being raped, tortured and murdered for simply showing their face on the street or getting an education.

Ranger Hrothgar is one of my cartoon alter egos. He’s a vegetarian Álfar, (Elven) gaurdian of the natural world and champion for ethical reasoning. Hrothgar is the original Germanic form of my current real name.
