Mayo is located in British Columbia, Canada where his studio overlooks fifty-four snow covered mountains. Mayo works in many media including sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, photography, jewelry and hollow-ware, as well as blown, slumped, fused and flame glass.

Much of Mayo’s artwork focuses on endangered species, endangered environments and endangered human cultures. To date, Mayo has trekked to some of the most remote parts of ninety-six countries as he studies endangered species and endangered ethnic groups. While traveling, Mayo collects exotic and precious materials. Those materials inspire Mayo and are frequently incorporated into his artwork; making each of his pieces truly unique and one-of-a-kind.

All of Mayo’s original art work is produced by hand and without the aid of computer programs. Mayo does not use power tools; and in some cases, makes his own tools.

Mayo is a Signature Member of ‘Artists for Conservation’, a select group of the world’s leading naturalists artists dedicated to wildlife and habitat conservation.
