Beopwang-ru the Dharma King pavilion at Bongeunsa, a 1200 year old temple located in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea.

Peering through the wall screen of the pavilion, I caught a glimpse of some of the 3,300 miniature statues of Gwanseum Bosal (Bodhisattva of Compassion) that line the walls.

Gwanseum Bosal means great love, great compassion so the miniatures in the pavilion glorify the essence of the Buddhist spirit and make the temple a model of the Bodhisattva way of life in the belief that one’s task is only to help other people life after life.

Taken with Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH1 on 30th October 2012.
