Why Wait To Be Ashes...?

Why wait to be ashes scattered in the wind and the rain,
As if life is dwelling apart?
You ask us now to find you
In the river, the trees and the flying clouds,
As if death is a return ticket
Back to the great oneness:
As if life is dwelling apart
From these ancient hills and flying clouds.
My thoughts,
Like autumn leaves dance and are gone
In the wind which sweeps this landscape,
And all my days,
Like ashes are washed away by the gentle rain,
This rain, which is endlessly falling.

Why Wait To Be Ashes...?
