I photographed this butterfly in early April when the Milk maid (Lady’s Smock) was growing in the hedgerows. As that died off the Orange tip seemed to disappeared. I’ll try and get a better shot next year.

These guys should do soap commercials their white is so bright. They must love this flower as I have got some pics of the same butterfly, on the same flower, taken donkey’s years ago.
Find some Milk Maid growing around the ditches and hedgerows in early April and you stand a good chance of finding one of these. You’re right though, the white is extremely bright.
