RMS Titanic Maiden Voyage Welcoming Mirth

This painting was done by Neil Wooding (Woodie); a beautiful depiction of what might have been “if other wisdom was heeded”. It’s ‘realism’ is as accurate as if someone photographed a more optimistic and hopeful conclusion to Titanic’s maiden journey…..Well done, Woodie and a deep apology for this prior omission.

I asked Neil if I could proudly display this scene in what I call the PNR frame….PNR stands for Point of No Return.
The Titanic’s PNR occurred to be decided first by the shipline and its Captain…. to steam recklessly across the Atlantic w/o giving heed to iceberg reports. It was further mandated as dusk settled the evening of the 14th to continue at the breakneck speed of 22 1/2 knots with lower visibility. Finally, as the ship entered the field of icebergs, the ship wielded slowly to a turn in direction due to small rudder in comparison to the behemoth that it was. As its bow dipped into the icy Atlantic, a tale of woe echoed through the century, even nigh a century later.
