Observation of History Making Annals

This weekend I had the privilege of ‘observing a historical event’; the commissioning of a US Naval ship. The ship is most noteworthy to me in that it was the USS North Carolina (SSN 777), after my ‘homestate’. This is the fifth ship in US Naval history that has bore this designation. The former commissioned USS North Carolina is a battleship that remains in the city of Wilmington on exhibit. There was a Confderate ‘ironclad’ that was also designated as CSS North Carolina. I took a collection of photographs of the occasion and will post them individually and /or collected in a collage shortly. There are sites to glean more information to those who may be interested by ‘googling SSN 777’
