Lindos Village lies at the foot of the huge rock on top of which sits the Lindos Acropolis on the Greek island of Rhodes. The landscape beyond the town is dry and rocky with very little vegetation, a hard place to live.
Only motorbikes/scooters, small delivery vans and donkeys are allowed on the narrow paved streets and alleyways and little or no changes are allowed to be made to the buildings, many of which have survived since the 15th Century.
Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese Group of Greek islands.
