Artist's Description

An English Heritage Grade II Listed Building

Bunker’s Hill Farm, at Dacre, Cumbria, England.

Bunker’s Hill Farm is one of three well known Folly Farmholds (see below), East of the village of Greystoke, built about 1789 by Charles Howard (the 11th Duke of Norfolk) of Greystoke Castle.

It is said that name is in memory of the Battle of Bunker Hill, during the American Revolutionary War, in which a member of the Howard Family fought.

Bunker’s Hill Farm is an English Heritage Grade II Listed building, English Heritage List Entry: 1290653.
