Spire House, at Dacre, Cumbria, England.
Spire House is one of three well known folly farmholds, East of the village of Greystoke, built about 1789 by Charles Howard (the 11th Duke of Norfolk) of Greystoke Castle.
It is said that the tenant told the Duke of Norfolk, his landlord, that his religious beliefs did not require attendance at church, his house would serve. So the duke erected a churchlike house for him.
Spire House is an English Heritage Grade II Listed building, English Heritage List Entry: 1290677.
