Artist's Description

The brand new Queensferry Crossing opened on 30th August 2017 and today, 5th September 2017 was the last chance to walk over the bridge before it becomes designated as a motorway.

The new bridge carries the M90 Motorway across the Firth of Forth between Edinburgh, at South Queensferry, and Fife, at North Queensferry.

The bridge is a cable-stayed structure, with three towers each 207 metres (679 ft) high. Including approaches, the overall length of the bridge is 2.7 kilometres (1.7 miles); at opening, it is the longest triple tower cable-stayed bridge in the world.

This view is of several of the cable supports, between the centre and North Tower.
