Artist's Description

One of the outstanding beauty spots in all of Scotland is the Queen’s View where, on clear days, a panorama of lake and mountain scenery stretches westwards as far as the Glencoe hills.

There is just a little doubt about which Queen is meant. Queen Victoria certainly visited it in 1866, when travelling privately, “incognita” as she so correctly puts it. However, it is more widely believed to have been named after Queen Isabella the 14th century wife of Robert the Bruce.
