Prunus Kanzan is a cultivar of the Prunus serrulata species, a flowering Japanese cherry blossom also called sakura in Japanese. It’s an ornamental tree from the Far East though you wouldn’t recognize it as such because the normal sakura trees you see blooming in spring are the normal species and not a cultivar. The pink blossoms are an excellent complement to blue skies and green grass creating a special aesthetic for any landscape.
