Sensibly Sedated

I died today, just to let you know,
When you walked away, I couldn’t show,
How painful it is, to say good bye,
To hide the sorrow and not to cry.
I died today, deep within my heart,
It melted down, then broke apart,
Into pieces of cold black stone,
And crawled away to die alone.
I died today, and suffered the pain,
And from my eyes, came salty rain,
Dripping forth in sporadic flow,
At least it’s free and will never know.
I died today, yes I slit my wrists,
Crimson liquid now stains my fists,
It does not hurt, in comparison you see,
Because all feeling left, when you left me.
I died today, this became the end,
The day you chose, to just be my friend,
A day unfriendly, the right day to die,
Drowning in blood, I whisper “good bye.”
