I’m a sucker for old boats, so much so that once bought one, and spent 3 years scraping its bottom.
Summer holidays in Ireland involve packing kids off to summer camps, I think we are already on number 3 this year. One of the camps my munchkins went on was a water sports week in Waterford. They went surfing, canoeing, raft building, rock climbing, lived in wetsuits and ate soggy sandwiches.
The daily trip meant i hadt o get them to the camp every morning really early and that was a delight as I got to drive throughthe fishing docks at Dunmore East at their busiest timer Diesel, Crabs and Guano are the abiding smells I recall .
This picture was taken by the old fisherman’s stores, now disused on a rocky outcrop on the south side of the harbour. Nikon D70 with a 28-200 lens.
