Luis de Milan (1500 - 1561) was a prolific and brilliant composer for the Vihuela (which is an early guitar!). This work is the Front piece from his book of compositions that was entitled Libro de música de vihuela de mano intitulado El maestro, published in 1536. Many of his works are still played by classical guitarists today.
The vihuela is tuned like a renaissance lute but is flat backed and shaped like a guitar. If you tune the g-sting to f# on your guitar and put a capo on 3 you'll be tuned the same way!
