Artist's Description

Born around 991, Guido de Arezzo was a monk and important music theorist of his time. He brought us modern notation which advanced music in ways most theorists don’t realize. Once written, music was able to more quickly evolve!

The Guidonian Hand was one of his teaching tools to help children learn music.
