Artist's Description

“Tin Lizzie” by Thom Zehrfeld

This is a 1926 Ford Model T Racer also known, as well as other Model T’s as “Tin Lizzies”! This term comes from the Horse and Buggy days where many folks called their horse “Elizabeth”…well Lizzie! The name caught on with the new automotive era. This Racer is a stock Model T with a lighter body shell and a souped up engine. It could get up to 90 miles per hour! This particular Model T is typical of race cars of the 1920s. They were driven to and from the race track. Most had no top or windshield as opposed to the image here. This image has been converted to a digital painting!
