We are invited
to a Holyday dinner
a harvest feast
with passion fruit
for dessert
picked from a garden
seen as lost
only from the
height of hubris –
Satan’s perch
from which
he preached us blind

A simple shift
in perception
will reveal the banquet
spread before us –
lovingly prepared
generously offered
our names engraved in gold
and placed at every setting
on the table

All we are asked
is to eat heartily
savor each mouthful
and let sweet juice
run freely down our chins –
where angels will be waiting
to lick them clean
