International Day of Democracy is annually held on September 15. It is a day which was agreed by the United Nations. It is celebrated to increase the awareness about the democracy. Countries in United Nations have different ways to conduct the festivities.

In some countries, Day of Democracy is counted as federal holiday. At this occasion, folks are getting involved with various activities and events to embrace the democracy. People will hit the street to join the cavalcades or just watch from across the street.

As what United Nations agree, the International Day of Democracy aims to increase the public awareness of democracy. Businesses, offices, family, government and non-government organizations will hold big events to promote the existence of democracy. It is commonplace to participate in the related events and activities.

On the International Day of Democracy, public figures, important people, and volunteers will participate in conferences, discussions, and press conferences. Most of these are free to attend or people get invitation.

It involves keynote speakers in which the events will be held prior to the main event happening. Most of the keynote speakers will be influential persons involved in democratic communities or representatives from democratic governments.

In this big day, you will see tons of leaflets, flyers, brochures, banners, as well as posters posted in universities, government places, public spots and places where people can grab the messages about the importance of democracy.
