A Bottle Of Scotch And A Drunk Lonely Mind

You pick out your seat,
Which starts with a glance,
You know what’s to come,
Its a merry old dance.

All thought to the future,
How soon will it pass?
You steady those nerves,
And pick up your glass.

You hold it with wonder,
Amazing to fill,
The liquid runs warm,
Then sits there to still.

Anticipate gladly,
The feeling surreal,
Just you and your crutch,
With hours to steal.

The lift savoured slowly,
You shake to the core,
Prepared for the battle,
To settle this score.

The bottom lip guides you,
So the top one can place,
The arm lifts up gently,
As you tip back your face.

With fire comes fire,
Oh burn baby burn,
The mouth throat and stomach,
Are eager to learn.

Remember this feeling,
So easy to find,
With a bottle of scotch,
And a drunk lonely mind.
