Nevertheless [terza rima]

Again, face against the wall, once more
With eyes that fail and a tongue that bites,
Pleading insanity on my home, the floor

Flesh consumes, fallen stone rages, misled
Excuses take their bitter throne another time,
Eyes bleed for you, hands colored red

Winter’s taste, come and gone, I no longer own,
For healing conveys my knees to gratitude
And it is here, hushed, unspoken I wait alone

Your ghost completes, still yet to find,
Lost somewhere, penetrating the golden hue
With heaven, your breath on my mind:

Nothing more is there, wonder seldom knew;
I am known – nevertheless loved, rescued.

Nevertheless [terza rima]
