Here's Little Holly

Here’s little Holly,
She is not even one,
New to this world,
Her life just begun.
Her Mum and her Dad,
Are proud as can be,
Her arrival has made,
A happy family.

Here’s little Holly,
She is nearly two,
There’s Mummy and Daddy,
And Granddad too.
They go to the park,
Where games they play,
Holly is sad,
When Gramps doesn’t stay.

Here’s little Holly,
She’s nearly three,
She’s always happy,
On Granddads knee.
Then one day,
He is there no more,
She waits and watches,
Who comes through the door.

Here’s little Holly,
She doesn’t comprehend,
Her heart is broken,
For the loss of her friend.
As time goes on,
And the months go by,
She begins to forget,
And no longer cries.

Here’s little Holly,
She’s just turned four,
She watches her father,
Walk out the door.
Her mother is crying,
Her Dad in a rage,
This shouldn’t happen,
To a child her age.

Here’s little Holly,
She helps her Mum,
She watches the door,
But her Dad doesn’t come.
She hasn’t seen him,
He’s out of her life,
He’s moved away,
He has a new wife.

Here’s little Holly,
She is not even seven,
All dressed in black,
Mum’s gone to heaven.
She stands alone,
Beside the grave,
She’s on her own,
She has to be brave.

Here’s little Holly,
She goes to the home,
There are lots of others,
But she feels so alone.
She sits in a corner,
Her world all in shreds,
What happens now?
Her future she dreads.

Here’s little Holly,
She’s just turned nine,
They find her Dad,
Where’s he been all this time?
They are telling her,
That she has to go,
To live with a man,
She doesn’t know.

Here’s little Holly,
Her life all ascew,
She has go to live,
With a family that’s new.
We’ll find some room,
Amongst the others,
These are all your,
Step sisters and brothers.

Here’s little Holly,
Amongst the throng,
She doesn’t fit in,
In just feels wrong.
There are sisters and brothers,
All over the place,
She can’t find her feet,
They are all in her face.

Here’s little Holly,
With her broken heart,
thrown into a family,
She doesn’t feel part.
Her step Mum is angry,
Her Dad always pissed,
She plans her escape,
She won’t be missed.

Here’s little Holly,
She keeps her head low,
She tries to stay calm,
‘til she’s ready to go,
She hates every minute,
She can’t wait to leave,
The place is so crowded,
She needs space to grieve.

Here’s little Holly,
She’s still only nine,
She doesn’t fit in,
Argues all the time.
Her step Mums a monster,
Her Dad’s never home,
She thinks she’d do better,
If she were alone.

Here’s little Holly,
She’s running away,
Her life is just work,
No time to just play.
She’s out in the street,
The weather is cold,
She needs to be brave,
She needs to be bold.

Here’s little Holly,
Two years down the line,
To feed her addiction,
She has turned to crime.
She looks so much older,
Than her eleven years,
She has learned to control,
All those lonely tears.

Here’s little Holly,
She shivers and shakes,
She just buys more drugs,
With the money she makes,
To make her money,
She sleeps with men,
She has had to do this,
Since she just turned ten.

Here’s little Holly,
Her face blue and black,
The pimp showed her ‘what for’,
When she tried to talk back.
Her mate gives her drugs,
Just to help her get through,
She can’t work like that,
Her face black and blue.

Here’s little Holly,
She takes to her bed,
The drugs take effect,
And go straight to her head.
In a drug induced slumber,
She tosses and turns,
With a mixture of dreams,
Her mother she yearns.

Here’s little Holly,
Asleep on her bed,
The life that she leads,
She’d be better off dead.
She gets no affection,
Not even a hug,
The pimp who she works for,
Is just a mean thug.

Here’s little Holly,
Her body is cold,
She lies on the bed,
She will never get old,
Nobody loved her,
Nobody cared,
Poor little Holly,
Ended Life scared.

Here’s little Holly,
Awaiting her grave,
She had to be bold,
She had to be brave,
She’s now up in heaven,
With Granddad and Mum,
She lived her life ‘wasted’,
Her feelings were numb.

Here’s little Holly,
Her little life gone,
With no one to love her,
She died all alone.
Here’s little Holly,
She lays in her coffin,
Another statistic,
For professors and boffins.

Artist's Description

A sad tail of little Holly. I am hoping to do pictures and turn it into a book similar to Black Widow.
