Artist's Description

The Old Post Office Building in Washington, D.C. has a very tall clock tower. Inside the tower, there is a tiny window where you can see the back of the clock face. We happened to be there at the right time, when the sun was shining through!

Built in the late 1890s, this building served as a post office for only 15 years until it was considered outdated and inefficient. There were many attempts to tear it down but a petition or protest always saved it. Today it is a shopping and eating center. You can sit inside on the ground floor, eat your Chinese food, and look up almost all the way to the top.
