Artist's Description

Something a little different from Shetland. Marsh marigolds are everywhere in the Spring and grow in profusion in the ditches and streams. This clump is at Hoswick and, whilst I like the original, sometimes I do like to move away from realism and try to capture something different about the scene. Often I try to reduce things to the basics (like the photographs of terns) and others I try to bring out elements that make the scene what it was.
Obviously this sort of work is more personal and won’t appeal to everyone but I was pleased with the result and thought I would share it on RB.

Thanks for looking,
Richard
