Artist's Description

Gigha lies a couple of miles off the west of the Kintyre peninsula and is itself approximately 6 miles by 1. It has a hotel and craft shop, the well-known Achamore Gardens and the natural beauty of plants, birds and, of course, coast with stunning views beyond to Kintyre as well as Islay, Jura and Knapdale. A small car ferry connects the island to the mainland. All in all, well worth a visit for an afternoon, day or even a week or more if you fancy a relaxing break.

We were very lucky with the weather on our day trip and this shot was taken at the Northern tip of the island looking out towards Jura. I’m not quite sure what this metal object is but doubtless it was very important once upon a time, perhaps when this was a ferry terminal.

Thanks for looking.
Richard
