Artist's Description

The fulmar petrel is the most numerous seabird in Sheltland and they are found nesting on every available ledge and cliff-face. They are not related to gulls but are instead related to the albatross family and are perfectly adapted to their pelagic life (out on the oceans).
I have several more photographs of these, my favourite, birds, this one shows a couple nesting amongst the red cliffs and sea pink (thrift) at Esha Ness.

Thanks for looking
Richard
