Artist's Description

A beautiful Hoverfly feeding on the nectar produced by the Loosestrife growing in my garden in Warrington.

The Hoverflies are a large famlly of Insects with about 250 species in Britain. Many of them are excellent mimics of Bees and Wasps and feed mainly on nectar and pollen.
