Artist's Description

This is Adam and Eve, appropriately named six foot pieces of granite locked in time for eternity. Looking down between them can make your stomach lurch as on one side there is a 1500ft drop down the east side. They can be found on top of one of the more famous Welsh 3000ers called Tryfan. On a clear day you can see these twin pinnacles, and their famous gap, from Llyn Ogwen below. If you squint Tryfan’s jagged outline does a very good impression of a side-on shot of Queen Victoria’s face. Frozen, Medusa-like at the end of the Glyders, the hard granite slabs jut out in all the right places to create the perfect replica of the old monarch’s profile.
