Forever Sleeping

When the clouds part and the rays of the sunlight pass
through, burning off the nights cold due, I turn to you
and see your eyes still in sleep.Putting my hand to your check your lips turn to a smile.

Reliving a memory of times past, wish it was a dream.
But alas it’s reality, your no longer there. Your side is cold and empty, how i miss the warmth, the wonderful
smell of your pillow. It seem a lifetime ago since you left,
i stare at the tv as i fall into sleep now and sometimes
just before i fall i can still here you breath, as i deepen
into dreams where things still make sense.

Where your still in my arms as we sleep, where your
warmth still makes me put my foot out to catch the coolness of our room, it seems i live only to sleep where we are still as one.Where your kiss is my first taste of the day, where your auburn hair is still so
beautiful upon the pillow as you awake.

Watching your eyes open, i see you smile up at me.
It gives me wonderment to stare into those eyes.
Looking into your early morning soul is something i will always miss, but only in sleep do i get to do these things. its sad to me to live in my sleep. So sleep
has become my lover & friend. Where you still exist,
while im awake your not there so sleep it shall be.
