The Spanish Colonial city of Cartagena was founded in Jun 1533 on the north western Carribean Coast of Colombia, South America – increasing fame and wealth of the city turned in into an attractive plunder site for pirates, and was the main area for the pirates of the Carribean. The old town walled city and fortress is listed as an Unesco World Heritage site. The modern part of Cartagena is a large port and industrial city.
