Artist's Description

Built back in 1740, these windmills were made to drain low catch-water basin. This basin is located between a path on the right and the mills. The water is then conveyed to the high catch-water basin, the Overwaard, located behind the mills.

The length of the stock varies from 28.5m to 29.5m and the water is conveyed 1.4m between both basins. The diameter of the scoop wheel is 6.9m

Kinderdijk is a World Heritage location.

Taken with a 5D Mark II and Canon 24-105mm/f4 lens.
