Artist's Description

I dedicate this to my Dad.
My father died from Alzheimer’s Disease about 10 years ago. A couple of years before he died, he was still cutting the brush trees around his home. After a day of cutting he had left this tree to grow. I asked him why? Poplar trees around here are considered weed trees. He told me that it was a Maple tree, we argued and I let him win. It was then that I knew something was very wrong. This tree will always be My father’s Maple tree. As long as I own this land it will never be cut.
