I was born in NYC the son of struggling actors. After a few location changes and my parents divorce I ended up in Milford, CT with my mom, two brothers and sister. I grew up like every normal kid I guess. I played sports, made friends, laughed, cried and helped my mother raise us. In high school I really enjoyed my photography class but never thought much of it until after college. In college I studied anthropology. Different cultures, places and people always had my attention. I remember while in Paris on a class trip to France our group was asked, “which would you like to visit, the Hard Rock Cafe or Notre Dame?” I thought, umm… is this really about to happen. Well I put my foot down and demanded to see Notre Dame, even if by myself. Four out of twenty decided to climb the belfry and scream sanctuary. Was that some sort of defining moment? I’m not sure, but I think I’ve kept that spirit close to me while trying to keep my eyes open to life. My work is inspired by those who’s work breathes of a life lived. Life should be simple, for most it’s anything but. When you see or hear a tremendous work of art you feel it and it moves as we move through life. I aspire to create life in my work, life in my art, life in my photography and live gently.
