Artist's Description

This is a 2 minute exposure of Milky Way on my Nikon D700 at ISO 1600, at f4, 17mm wide angle (Nikon 17-35mm lens).
It was taken late November 2009 at 2:45 am.
There is detectable daylight close to the horizon.
Being so dark, the milky way and some galaxies are quite pronounced.
It was taken at a place called Spain Bay in remote southwest Tasmania, Australia. You’re looking at a good couple of handfuls of days walking to get to this place.

There sure are a lot of stars out there!
