Remembering to remember

Every year on one day.
We give three minutes to you.
You gave us eternity,
your youth and innocence,
Your sanity,
So that we could be free.
Three minutes is nothing,
For those brave men,
Who so bravely fought,
And those who died.
Be still,
And Quiet,
And remember.
All who have died,
In all the wars,
In all the countries,
In all the years,
For what they believed in.
Three minutes of your time,
And a little silence,
Is all that is required,
On one day of the year.
Three minutes,
I could barely cook an egg,
Three minutes,
Not even an ad break on TV,
Three minutes to remember,
The brave men who,
Died and fought,
So you can be free.
So you can vandalise my bus stop,
So you can trash my garden,
So you can swear and fight,
On the bus,
Making those who fought for you,
Feel unsafe and uncomfortable,
Just three minutes,
you ungrateful child.
We must remember to remember.

Artist's Description

It is too late for rememberance day.
What a silly thing to say.
We should remember everyday.
So to all the people who ever died,
and for whatever cause they followed,
We must Rememeber to REMEMBER.
