This is the Great Blue Heron that I met on my holidays last year in Indian Shores in Florida. He was so photogenic and sometimes I think he was a little starstruck, as he seemed to almost pose for me to take his photograph. He would let me come within 3 or 4 feet of him without flying away, and on this particular day he just flew in and landed on the jetty quite close to where I was standing.
I decided to put him into a textured background with a little mist rising off the water, hence the title. It’s nothing at all to do with the song of the same name by Dorothy Moore, but since I named the picture, I haven’t been able to get the song out of my head! “Oh just the thought of you, turns my whole world a Misty Blue”
