Artist's Description

If you think that bears walk in the streets of Moscow, you are very much in the wrong, at least not for the last couple of years – they don’t. And I won’t surprise you if I said that it’s actually meerkats that are overpopulating Russia these days. Originally from South Africa, this small animal migrated to Russia and adopted well to the way of life and cold winters and what’s more – scared away all the bears… And they speak English quite well, as you would have expected of them. Russian meerkats fascination being a new fad I had to jump on the bandwagon and here I present you Yuri the meerkat. In the beginning he was meant to be a tractor driver for some remote Kolkhoz, but he looks too dressed up and a bit tipsy, so I’d say he is a party animal, probably plays accordion….

Oil pastel ACEO.
