Under the Direction of the Black Madonna

I’ve been driven almost frantically to view images of Our Lady Mary these past few days….didn’t really know why but I just followed the direct compulsion I have felt.…

Then I stumbled across the Black Madonna, also known as Our Lady of Czestachowa, Poland. The history behind this image has left me completely stunned….I was driven, recently, to include the two marks that I call warrior stripes in my artwork as I developed my personal style. And they are still warrior stripes, stripes of a Christian warrior and wounds which we all carry. But to be reminded of this image and to be so driven until I saw it was nothing short of Mary’s intercession. She wanted me to know EXACTLY why I have been so inspired to use these marks in my work. You can be sure that I will honour Her image and paint Her

Worldwide Recognition

About a month ago I was contacted by a Sr Fatima Aphiri from the Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows in Louisiana, America. Sr Fatima had been looking for something in the way of an image of Our Lady of Sorrows with which to present the Order’s website which was being rebuilt. When she found my image on the internet she contacted me and asked permission to use my image on the website. Not only was I deeply touched but also touched to the core of my heart and I felt very honoured.…

I wholeheartedly gave my permission and asked that I be notified when the image is placed on their website. The sisters, in turn, said they will keep me in their prayers.
