NEVER

She never heard her own cries
She saw her life through her own eyes
The ones that mirrored the rivers of her soul
The ones that never lied to others
No matter what they told.

She never tasted her own tears
The silent ones that strengthened with years
She never said yes to whom for she cared
There was never a someone with whom she dared

All she had, waiting to give
Trickled through her hands,
A emotional sieve.

Afraid to give what was to be treasured and nourished
Afraid it wouldn’t have the same intensity
And be allowed to flourish.

She never ever really let go,
She never let anyone know…

The pain of feeling, the will to keep trying
When with the passing of each day
A little more of her was dying.

She had so much to give
All her love so free
Is still alive, it lives alone
For she is inside of me.
