Artist's Description

Abstract piece on interdependence, & what it takes for us to be able to be here on the net -putting up work on the ’Bubble….Heavy Industry.

It may be dirty, sometimes ugly, but life before it was a hell of a lot dirtier, uglier & shorter.

As for global warming……The sun, and especially the prevalence or lack of sunspots, not CO2, despite the doom n’ gloom predictions, is the major engine of climate change. At the moment we are in a period of ZERO sunspot activity, similar to the mid 19th century, which produced a period known as the “Mini Ice-Age”. Last winter was the coldest for 30 years, & reversed over a century of temperature change.

Blaming it on man made emissions is a convenient way to prepare populations for massive increases in energy costs now that “peak oil” has arrived. Do not be mistaken, I am NOT arguing for a reduction in environmental laws, or abandoning the development of alternative energy. The destruction caused by Exxon Valdez & other major oil-spills is reason enough for legislating to protect our wildernesses & the animals and birds that live there from man’s activity. The reliance of Western nations on imported oil, especially from the Middle East creates a dangerous dependency & necessitates enormous military spending to ensure our oil supplies are safe. Alternative energy sources that reduce this dependency should be a huge priority in this century.

If you still believe CO2 emissions is causing global warming, go to Google Earth. Look up some of the largest urban areas you can think of LA, Shanghai or the US East Coast conurbations. Then go look at the size of the Pacific Ocean, or Continental Russia from Moscow to Vladivostock .Human presence on earth is a blip, & the idea that we could have MORE influence over climate than the giant ball of flaming fusion energy we orbit every 24 hours is, frankly absurd. The sun is so large that if it were to be represented by a basketball, at the same scale the earth is smaller than a pea]. It may not be politically correct to say it -but I rarely am PC but man made global warming is just hot air, [lol], designed to prepare Western industrialised nations for the major reductions in energy availability and soaring fuel prices that are inevitably going to occur early in this 21st century.

Google sunspots and climate change to discover more.
