Is Love Overrated?

Some say it’s overrated.
To someone that feels special to be living,
From a partner that passionately supports,
Love is real.

To someone spending time alone,
Feeling lost within time moving,
Love lacks reality.

Some say the love of blood is thicker than water.
To a grandmother surrounded by the care,
Of the generations that passionately support,
Family is Love.

To an orphan who feels unwanted,
Lost within the system of paperwork,
Love has no family.

Love is a concept for world peace,
While we fight amongst ourselves,
It’s to bring collaboration of many.

Years ago, Jesus came, to teach us love,
Even with betrayal and sacrifice of death,
Even with years of recycling the attempt,
Have we gained the understanding of Love?

We dream of shared special moments,
To be with a partner or family member,
Deep within the hearts, we so desire.

From birth, youth, and until elderly age,
A goal worth spreading and struggling to learn,
We continue our searching beyond the limits.

Is Love, beyond our understanding and comprehension?
Love is of giving, without bounty,
Love is of sharing, without recognition,
Love is of listening, without proposition,
Love is of sacrifice, without presentation,
Love is of action, without introduction,
Love comes from the heart of desire,
Love is the gift of kindness to others.
So why do some say Love is overrated?
